Hello, my name is Misty Dawn Thomas Skarzinski. I was born and raised in Fairmont, West Virginia. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Art Education from Fairmont State as well as a Masters Degree in Special Education from West Virginia University.  I have been happily married for the past 17 years to L. D. Skarzinski, fellow FSU alumni.  We are the proud parents of 2 beautiful boys, Remington Thomas Skarzinski age 15 and Ryder Thomas Skarzinski age 11.  Being an avid animal lover, I have 4 dogs (Butler, Gunner, Albert, and Daisy) and 3 cats (Casper, Pancake, and Cali Jo). Presently, I am an Art Teacher in Marion County at Rivesville Elementary/Middle School where I have taught there for the past 10 years.  I love my job and the children that I work with.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to share the experiences of my travel through Italy with my students and community.  At a fairly young age of 38, I truly consider myself blessed.  I am a 4-year cancer survivor with amazingly wonderful parents who have molded me into the person I am today.  I hope that I can inspire the children in my life as they have inspired me!
